Royal expert Katie Nicholl said it has been a "very hard few days" for the 39-year-old - who put the drama aside as she stepped out for an engagement with Prince William last
Thursday. Claims of tears over a bridesmaid dress fitting ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding resurfaced when Meghan told Winfrey Kate made her cry - not the other
way around. Ms Nicholl said Kate found it "mortifying" that the row had reemerged after it was first reported in November 2018. The royal author added that there are
"different versions" of the story and the Sussexes know Kate is "not in a position to respond". Ms Nicholl told OK! magazine: "This has been a very hard few days for
Kate, but she turned up and committed to her work and duty last week. “People did notice that she appeared downcast and subdued. "Behind closed doors she has been saddened,
disappointed and hurt. "From what I hear, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the one Meghan discussed. "Kate felt it was all sorted, so to have it
brought up again was mortifying. "Kate is not in a position to respond and Meghan and Harry know that." READ MORE: MEGHAN AND KATE 'BOTH CRIED' OVER BRIDESMAID DRESS
FITTING ROW According to the ex-Suits star, Kate apologised after the incident and sent her flowers. Meanwhile, Harry revealed the depth of his rifts with his brother William and father
Prince Charles. He insisted he had been "trapped within the system, like the rest of my family are". "My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don't get to
leave," the Queen's grandson added. The royals appeared to be at odds over the version of some events told by Meghan and Harry, saying in a statement that "some recollections
may vary". The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal duties in March 2020 and have moved to America. They plunged the Royal Family into crisis with their bombshell interview. Meghan and
Harry made a series of explosive claims, including allegations of racism.
