Dr Roger Lupton, who was chaplain to both King Henry VII and King Henry VIII, was provost of Eton in the 16th century. Aside from Dr Roger Lupton, gentleman farmer Alan Lupton, who was a
distant cousin, was a boarder at the school during the late Victorian era. Dr Roger Lupton died in 1540 and was buried in the chapel. A brass plate bearing his image was placed in his
resting place. The two buildings - Lupton Tower and Lupton Chapel - honour his name. Alan Lupton, who is Kate's second cousin three times removed, arrived at Eton College three
centuries later and boarded for five years, until 1892. Kate is the great-granddaughter of Olive Lupton, who married Richard Noel Middleton in 1914. John Middleton, who is another relative
of Kate, attended rival Winchester College but played cricket against Eton in the 1914 Eton Match. Noel and Olive Middleton watched on from the sidelines as the game took place. Prince
William started at Eton College in 1995, closely followed by Prince Harry in 1998. Other royal relatives who attended include the late Queen's cousins Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, Duke
of Glocester and Prince Michael of Kent. The late Queen Elizabeth II was educated privately, but did study constitutional history at Eton. Last month, Kate and William were spotted attending
Eton College with Prince George, who will celebrate his tenth birthday later this month. There is speculation that the young royal will follow in his father and uncle's footsteps with
a place at the prestigious school - but he won't be able to attend until he turns 13 as this is the entry age. Parents are encouraged to start the application process when their child
is in Year 5 at school - just as George currently is. At present, Prince George attends Lambrook School along with his two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The trio
started at the school last year, having moved to Windsor just weeks before the September term started. The Prince and Princess of Wales are keen for their three children to experience as
much normality as possible, with the family-of-five now residing at Adelaide Cottage - a stark difference to their Kensington residence.
