At least two people have been injured on an easyJet flight travelling from Corfu to London after the jet was struck by turbulence, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing. The Airbus
A320 was carrying 181 passengers when it was forced to make an emergency landing in Italy. The jet took off from Corfu Airport in Greece at 12.44pm local time on Monday and was travelling to
London's Gatwick Airport. But just 20 minutes later, the plane was battered by brutal turbulence while travelling at 779 kilometres per hour. The pilot was then forced to make an
emergency landing at Rome's Fiumicino airport after two members of the cabin crew who were preparing to serve food were violently smashed against the plane walls. They sustained
injuries and received medical attention when they landed. An easyJet spokeswoman said: "The flight on August 19 experienced turbulence which unfortunately injured two cabin crew
members. "As a result, the captain decided to divert the flight to Rome, where the flight attendants received medical assistance. "The safety and well-being of our customers and
crew are easyJet's top priority, and our pilots are trained to manage turbulence."
