She said: "If it's such a problem, they should do something about all the pupils who have tight trousers - and not just us." Her mother Tracy Godfrey, 48, of Grimsby, said:
"I think it's absolutely disgusting. "Brooke has been wearing these school trousers for a long time. She has not had a school bag for a year, and that's not been
mentioned before." Havelock Academy boasts a roster of 1,017 pupils, including 113 Sixth Form students, and was rated "Good" by Ofsted following a 2015 inspection. Regular
inspections are carried out there to find pupils who are not wearing the proper uniform, however staff insist they regularly remind parents and pupils about uniform policy. The school's
official policy on its website under uniform for years 7 to 11 reads: "Black tailored straight leg or bootcut trousers." But underneath the heading, it clearly states: "The
trousers must not be a tight fitted style / drainpipe style. The trousers must not be tight Lycra material trousers." Havelock Principal Wendy Jackson said: "In this instance, a
number of female pupils have recently started wearing uniform and make-up that does not meet the expectations the school has set. "When something like this happens, pupils are put into
our alternative provision at the school. "This enables them to still access all aspects of their education, while ensuring that the basic codes of the academy are still adhered
to."
