On Sunday evening, James Comer spoke with Chuck Todd on NBC News and revealed that he plans to investigate President Joe Biden when the Grand Old Party takes control of the House of
Representatives in January 2023. After the US midterms, Republicans currently have a slight majority of 220 as they gained eight seats in the election. Mr Cormer said: “We’ll have 25 members
on the committee, and we’re going to have a staff close to 70.” He added that Republicans will likely launch a series of different probes into “40 or 50 different things”. One day after the
US midterm elections, Mr Cormer said that investigating Joe Biden’s family is a “top priority”. He has accused the POTUS’ youngest son, Hunter Biden, of crimes such as tax evasion, wire
fraud and conflict of interest with Joe Biden’s role as Commander-in-Chief. In a press statement earlier this month, Mr Cormer claimed: “Evidence obtained by Committee Republicans reveals
Joe Biden lied to the American people about his involvement in his family’s business schemes. “The Biden family business model is built on Joe Biden’s political career and connections with
Joe Biden as the ‘chairman of the board.’ “Biden family members sold access for profit around the world to the detriment of American interests.” He promised at the time: “With the new
Republican majority, Oversight Committee Republicans will continue pressing for answers to inform legislative solutions to prevent this abuse of power.” READ MORE: IRAN CALL FOR FIFA TO KICK
USA OUT OF WORLD CUP AHEAD OF CRUNCH CLASH Republicans have insisted that further inequities are needed to determine if President Joe Biden was allegedly involved in Hunter Biden’s business
dealing while he was Vice President. After Mr Cormer’s statement, the White House said the inquiries were politically motivated. Spokesman Ian Sams said: "Instead of working with
President Biden to address issues important to the American people, like lower costs, congressional Republicans' top priority is to go after President Biden with politically motivated
attacks chock-full of long-debunked conspiracy theories." Officials within the Democratic National Committee also criticised Mr Cormer, and they accused him of being "a Trump
apologist who has made clear that his phoney investigations are political exercises designed to hurt President Biden".
