The shocking Met Desk graph showed UK temperatures will begin to increase towards Sunday evening and return to temperatures more in line with predictions for this time of year. After this
return to average temperatures, they are set to rise further pushing the UK into the mid-twenty bracket. By next week Wednesday, the UK can expect to see temperatures in the high teens with
some spots reaching as high as 22 degrees Celsius. Exacta Weather's James Madden said southern Britain is in line to “boil before the whole country gets a taste of the blowtorch”. He
said: “Despite the potential for some unsettled and mixed weather during the start of May confidence is high for a switch to an early taste of summer this year. “This is likely from
mid-month onwards although it could possibly start to turn warmer earlier in southern areas. “These regions are likely to bask in some very warm temperatures for within this period with
highs in the mid to upper 20Cs at the very least. “Most if not all of the country can also look forward to a number of prolonged and widespread warm periods with ample wall-to-wall sunshine
from mid-may onwards as high pressure begins to dominate the weather." The Met Office also predicted the return of milder temperatures before the country begins to heat up. Met Office
meteorologist Richard Miles said: “Between now and the weekend there will be some unsettled weather with quite a lot of rain spreading north-westwards on Wednesday. “The rain will hang
around, particularly in northeastern parts of the country, through Wednesday and Thursday, and in the north over the hills there could be wintry showers. “While it will feel cool in the wind
and the rain, milder air will start to come in from the southwest.” Thermometers could hit the 20C (68F) mark in some parts with clear skies and sunshine largely set to continue through
next week, he added. He closed by saying that by the weekend the weather will be more settled, warmer, drier and much more pleasant in most places.
