Protestors came out to protest many different elements of Trump's election, include what they clasimed was racist scapegoating, sexism, homophobia and climate change denial. Riots have
been sparked across the glove, many of which also turning violent - with some demonstrators setting a limousine alight outside the Washington Post's office At least 95 have been
arrested in Washington alone. Police used smoke grenades and fired tear gas to disperse a large group of protesters in Washington, some of whom had thrown bricks at the officers. While an
American flag was thrown on a fire which had started by demonstrators. Earlier on Friday, banners were dropped from nine major bridges in London and in cities across the UK including
Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and Belfast on Friday morning. The banners tackled issues raised by the President-elect on his campaign to reach The White House, including race, immigration
and women's rights. Nona Hurkmans, a spokesman for organiser Bridges Not Walls, said: "On Trump's inauguration day, we're taking action to show our support for groups
under attack - here in the UK, across Europe and in the USA - and to reject the rise of a dangerous and divisive far right politics. "We won't let the politics of hate peddled by
the likes of Donald Trump take hold. What happens next is up to us and by standing together, we can show that the rhetoric of fear and hate have no place in our society." And today
women's marches are being planned in places across America including Los Angeles and Park City, Utah, while similar events will be staged in London and Edinburgh.
