BBC Breakfast usually runs a well-oiled ship but Naga Munchetty and Mike Bushell suffered a little mishap this morning. When Naga welcomed Mike to the studio, she had to improvise as the

latter's microphone wasn't fitted correctly. Looking over at her colleague, the presenter quizzed: "Have you got a microphone on?” Mike was sent into a mild panic as he tried

to find the crafty device. The sports presenter eventually gave an answer, telling Naga: “Oh. Sorry. It’s called off.” “Oh. Well while he’s sorting himself out, so Paul Radcliffe is coming

on the programme, of course,” Naga said in an attempt to keep the show going. During this, Mike was still frantically trying to find his microphone and could be heard repeatedly apologising

off-screen. Eventually, he found his microphone and exclaimed: “Here it is! There we go!” Once Mike had finally managed to sort himself out, Naga asked: “Have you got your microphone back

on?” “Yeah. Thanks for digging me out of a hole there, Naga,” Mike said apologetically. He then proceeded to explain what had happened, saying: “You know what it is. When you sit down

sometimes, I sat on the lead, and it pulled it the microphone down like that. So I put it back on.” Naga didn’t seem too impressed by his explanation and joked: “Funnily enough Mike, I’ve

never had that problem.” That pair then moved on from the incident and started discussing Olly Gunnar Solksjear’s recent appointment as the manager of Manchester United. Yesterday, Carol

Kirkwood shut down Naga after she almost revealed a story the former didn’t want repeating live on air. Naga asked Carol if she’d ever been bitten by an otter, to which the weather presenter

replied: “Never. Never.” However, Naga seemed convinced that there was a story of Carol being embroiled with some sort of animal live on TV. “You were bitten by an otter, weren’t you?

Didn’t you do an outside broadcast with otters, or am I imagining that?” Naga asked. “Penguins,” Carol replied with a smile, but she was then quick to shut down this whole conversation. “No,

you’re getting a whole other story mixed up, which we weren’t going to talk about, Naga,” Carol added. Carol then moved quickly on to her weather report, saying: “So, moving swiftly on from

otters, this morning it’s a lovely start to the day for some of us.” _BBC BREAKFAST AIRS WEEKDAYS AT 6AM ON BBC ONE._
