Game of Thrones fans were shocked by sex scenes with Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) as the girl they had seen grown up from season one. They were confused about her age and also were

disturbed by seeing Arya in this situation. In all the reaction to the scenes to the HBO show, Gendry (Joe Dempsie) has been forgotten. However, Watchers on The Wall deputy editor Luke

Nieto has suggested the scene with Arya could elevate him to a higher status. He spoke to Metro.co.uk about the scene: “Though a main character like Arya forming such a deep connection with

a secondary character like Gendry right before a battle would appear to be the kiss of death for the latter, Gendry could play a surprisingly political role in the later half of the season.

“If Gendry survives the battle to come, he could be legitimised by either Jon or Daenerys and given House Baratheon’s lands, the Stormlands. “To be clear, a “Gendry Baratheon” would not

technically be a heir to the Targaryen crown before Dany or Jon (though Baratheons have some distant Targaryen blood), but Gendry’s Baratheon status would be enough for vengeful or ambitious

Lords to prop him up.” Gendry told her about his journey so far, and let slip about his true parentage. Gendry’s really father was Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy), which makes him the rightful

heir to the throne. He told Arya in secret and does not want people to know, but could the Battle of Winterfell elevate him from a minor character to claim the Iron Throne? It would be a

huge twist for the character whose true heritage has never been acknowledged, in a similar way to Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington). However, could Arya use the information she has gained by

getting close to him to claim the Iron Throne for herself? Meanwhile, the fallout from Arya’s sex scenes rumbles on as fans come to terms with what they witnessed. Showrunner David Benioff

told The Hollywood Reporter: “For us, what was interesting about this episode was that this is our last night together, and I think everyone would face the end in different ways. "Some

characters want to make love for the first time because they've never done it before, and other characters are getting drunk and singing songs. "Everyone faces [the end of the

world] in different ways. But they're all facing it and that's why this episode was so important to us because it's all these characters that we've been following for so

long and now they're facing a common enemy." Star Maisie also revealed the importance of the scenes, but also how she though bosses were joking when they first told her about the

storyline. She told Entertainment Weekly: “She said: “At first, I thought it was a prank. I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’

Oh f**k!” She added: “David and Dan were like: ‘You can show as much or as little as you want.’ So I kept myself pretty private. I don’t think it’s important for Arya to flash. This beat

isn’t really about that. And everybody else has already done it on the show.” Fans will have to wait to find out if Gendry’s true parentage is exposed and he achieves the destiny that he was

always meant to fulfil. _GAME OF THRONES SEASON EIGHT CONTINUES NEXT SUNDAY ON HBO AND SKY ATLANTIC ON MONDAY AT 2AM._
