was his idea to strip off, he said he had lived to regret the stunt. The 33-year-old actor said: “It was my idea top take my top off in that scything scene and that was probably a huge
mistake. “But it just seemed to make sense to me. Ross is in the field, it’s a really hot day, there’s a lot of work to do and it seemed to me it wouldn’t have been realistic for him to
keep his top on.” Defending himself by saying it was never meant to be “sexually provocative”, Turner acknowledged that the famous scene, watched by eight million viewers, “wasn’t the worst
thing that could have happened” because it put him “on the map”. One downside, however, was that he now feels under pressure to maintain his chiselled body. The star, who will reprise his
role in second series of the Winston Graham inspired drama next Sunday, told a weekend magazine: “I also think I got myself a bit too fit for series one and I’m paying the price for it now.
