Joshua was in talks to face Wilder earlier this year, but his team were unable to hash out a deal with the American’s representatives before the WBA ordered the Watford native to face
Alexander Povetkin. The WBA (Super), WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight king is keen on a unification bout with ‘The Bronze Bomber’, but the Alabama native currently has his sights set on a
rematch with Tyson Fury. Although Fury is seemingly in pole position to fight Wilder next, the 33-year-old is still at the forefront of Joshua’s mind. So much so that he took the time to
mock his fellow Olympian during a recent interview with DAZN. “I think it's important for a manager or promoter to educate his student,” ‘AJ’ said when asked about the worst advice a
fighter can receive from a promoter. “’This is what you're going to do, this is how you're going to get on.' The better the student does, the better the manager or promoter
looks. "I think with Mike Tyson, the people that were around him around, if they had not tried to steal then people would have still been eating till this day." Seconds later,
Joshua put on an American accent and once again said: “Till this day. Till this day.” Joshua’s repetition of ‘till this day’ was a reference to an interview Wilder conducted before his fight
with Fury, during which he screamed the phrase at a journalist. While further discussing Mike Tyson’s plight, in particular his loss of his millions, Joshua revealed he wants his opponents
to be taken care of financially when they fight him. And he seemingly hinted that a rematch Dillian Whyte could be on the cards. "That's why I would fight Dillian [Whyte], because
I would rather break bread with him,” he continued. “That's my countryman. We’ve had issues since the amateurs. “So if anyone's going to eat, it should be him. I understand where I
was, I understand everyone’s got to eat. "But I just think they should be realistic as well.” Joshua, 29, is next scheduled to fight on April 13 at Wembley. At this moment in time, the
Olympic gold medallist doesn’t have an opponent for his next outing at the home at English football, the venue for his unforgettable 2017 victory over Wladimir Klitschko.
