Takam suffered two deep cuts above his eyes in the fourth round but bravely fought on before the referee intervened to stop the bout in the 10th.


The Frenchman was desperate to continue despite the heavy bleeding and told Sky Sports this evening that the healing process is almost complete.


“I’m good! It’s okay now as you can see,” Takam said, pointing to his left eye.


However, his right eye was still badly swollen, bearing the scars of Joshua’s powerful hands.


But Takam revealed he has not spent much time dwelling on the defeat.

The 36-year-old earned plenty of plaudits for his bravery and even appeared to hurt Joshua at times.


But he was significantly less impressed by Dereck Chisora, whom he watched lose to Agit Kabayel on points in Monte Carlo tonight.
