Mikel Arteta raised both arms to celebrate the first Arsenal goal of his era as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the equaliser against Bournemouth. He slotted it into the bottom corner after
he had tried to lay a chance off to Alexandre Lacazette and the ball found its way back to him in the penalty area. Aubameyang celebrated in the crowd and was booked for his troubles but
Arteta turned to his bench with both arms aloft before engaging in more talks with his coaches as he plotted a winner. The goal came in response to Dan Gosling’s opener and gave them 25
minutes to search for a second in Arteta’s first game. Arsenal had started well and looked vibrant in attack but there were still issues in defence. Arteta made a statement with his first
team selection as he recalled Mesut Ozil to the XI and played him alongside both Aubameyang and Lacazette. Reiss Nelson was also in ahead of summer signing Nicolas Pepe. David Luiz and
Sokratis were at centre back with Ainsley Maitland Niles on the right and Bukayo Saka while the midfield was made up on Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira. READ MORE: MIKEL ARTETA ARRIVES FOR
FIRST ARSENAL MATCH DRESSED LIKE PEP GUARDIOLA Despite the equaliser and decent performance Martin Keown was critical. Speaking on BBC radio he said: “I am going to show Arsenal some
sympathy here. This is their third manager in a month. "They look a little bit disillusioned. I am not sure whether they want it enough, they have had plenty of possession. “Of course
as I say all this they score. This goal gets them back in it and now they have to go on and win. "This game is there for the taking for both teams. Arsenal have had most of the
possession but they are not clinical enough.”
