Barcelona ace Memphis Depay may regret his failure to secure a summer move to Manchester United or Tottenham as he could now be set to copy Dele Alli and move to Turkey. The forward is out
of contract at the Nou Camp next summer and is likely to sever ties with the club during the January transfer window. Depay was a regular starter for Barcelona during the first half of last
season following the departure of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain. And he bagged a respectable 12 goals in 28 La Liga appearances throughout the campaign. But Barca strengthened their
frontline in January and the summer, with Depay subsequently dropping down the pecking order. And he only started two matches this season before injuring himself while on international duty
with the Netherlands last month. Depay was linked with a return to the Premier League a few months ago, with Old Trafford and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium being tipped as possible
destinations. Chelsea and Everton were also said to be interested, while Juventus were reportedly targeting him as well. READ MORE: FIVE THINGS LEARNED AS MAN UTD PROVE THEY DON'T NEED
RONALDO Depay joined Barcelona last July following a productive four-and-a-half year spell with Lyon. He previously endured a miserable 18-month stint at Old Trafford after signing for the
club from PSV for £31million in 2015 when current Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal was in charge. Depay only scored seven goals in 53 games for the 13-time Premier League champions and
was shipped off to France at the start of 2017 for an initial fee of just over half the figure United had paid for him. If Depay does ultimately end up in Turkey, his career will have gone
in the same direction as ex-Tottenham star Alli. Alli was once billed as one of the best young attackers in the Premier League as he starred alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in north
London. But following years of sub-par performances, he joined Frank Lampard’s Everton in January in a deal that could have eventually cost the Toffees £40m. The 26-year-old flattered to
deceive on Merseyside, however, and was shipped off to Besiktas on a season-long loan in August. WIN A FREE ENGLAND SHIRT FOR THE WORLD CUP
