And last night, former Liverpool, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest striker Stan Collymore pleaded with someone to “please buy Hull City” calling Allam “an obstinate man”. The comments
follow an interview on TV yesterday in which Allam, who wants to change the club’s name to Hull Tigers because he believes it will make them more marketable, said: “No one on earth is
allowed to question my business decisions. I won’t allow it. “I can give you my CV to give you comfort, for what I do in business, what I have achieved, but for someone to come and question
me is not allowed. “I’m here to save the club and manage the club for the benefit of the community. It will never, never be the other way round. But if the community say go away, I promise
to go away within 24 hours.” Some fans from the ‘No To Hull Tigers’ group hit back at Allam’s comments by suggesting the best way to keep the club marketable was to “stay in the Premier
League”, while others denied he had invested heavily in the club by saying “he isn’t the one buying new players – his company loaned the club money for which he is charging interest.”
Another added: “We’re proud of Hull City’s history, we’ve saved our club with bucket collections and risen from the bottom.”
