A fight between Malignaggi and the UFC’s lightweight champion has been on the cards for the last six months. Malignaggi, 36, has been engaged in a war of words with McGregor ever since his
acrimonious departure from the Irishman’s training camp for his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr, which he lost via a tenth-round TKO. New York native Malignaggi cut ties with ‘The
Notorious’ after pictures from their sparring sessions started doing the rounds on social media. His anger towards McGregor intensified after a video clip from one of their training sessions
was released. That prompted the former WBA welterweight champion to challenge Ireland's first UFC belt holder to meet him inside the ring. McGregor has flirted with the idea of
fighting his former sparring partner but has seemingly set his sights on returning to the UFC. Malignaggi is keen to settle the score with the UFC's poster boy but doesn’t believe he’ll
get the opportunity to do so. “I don't think McGregor is going to fight me, to be honest,” ‘The Magic Man said at the launch of ULTIMATE BOXXER. MALIGNAGGI REVEALS 12-ROUND SPARRING
SESSION WITH MCGREGOR > He had his a** whooped in the sparring session and he has the whole > world believing he didn't so he's not going to take a chance on that > image
and perception being changed > > Paulie Malignaggi on why Conor McGregor won't fight him “I can keep baiting him or what-not but he has the sparring video and that video is not
going to come out so he's going to have the advantage over time. I don't think he is going to fight me. "He had his a** whooped in the sparring session and he has the whole
world believing he didn't so he's not going to take a chance on that image and perception being changed. “He'd be stupid to – if I was him, I'd be stupid to risk that
perception changing because right now perception is reality. “The reality wasn't that but if that perception is reality, he's going nowhere near me.” GETTY Conor McGregor and
