Reigns challenged Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship last year at WrestleMania but couldn’t dethrone the UFC legend. The Big Dog left the ring a bloody mess after The Beast

pummelled him with a series of elbow shots to his head and required up to 12 stitches and a few staples to stop the bleeding. The ex-Universal Champion was one of WWE’s most polarising

figures as he got booed by a large section of the audience even though he performs as a babyface. However, the WWE Universe has now rallied behind the four-time world champion after he

announced that he has been diagnosed with leukaemia. A few months before the shock revelation he looked back at the brutal beating and expressed his wish that the WWE Universe could

understand what kind of sacrifices he is willing to make to entertain them. The 33-year-old grappler told WWE 24, a documentary which showed behind-the-scenes footage of Mania, that he also

wants his kids to understand how hard they need to fight to make it to the top. Reigns said: “Sometimes it’s scary, you know. “How many beatings like this can I take? “I got three inner

stitches, eight or nine stitches on one of the cuts, a few staples for another cut above that. “I just hope people are willing to see that I’m willing to do anything. “I’m proud of what I’ve

done. “And I just hope my kids see it and learn from it and replicate it. “Because that’s what it takes. “Every inch of you physically, every fibre of you mentally, to the bone, though your

soul. “That’s the only way to get to the top and stay on top. “And as long as I can keep doing it then I’m gonna do it.” Reigns took time off from WWE last October in order to get treatment

but insists he is not retiring from professional wrestling. The former Intercontinental Champion is confident he will beat leukaemia and return better and stronger than ever. Reigns is

being built as the face of the company that will take over once John Cena retires. The Big Dog has beaten various WWE legends like Triple H, The Undertaker, Lesnar and more. Many say he is

also the leader of the locker room and has gained tremendous respect from his peers.
