Republic Day 2025 Celebrations: Avalon Heights Revives Grand Parade, Showcases Patriotic Spirit In Vashi | FPJ/ Farooq Sayed The 76th Republic Day was celebrated at Avalon Heights
International School in a manner distinct from the conventional, with a grand parade covering various parts of Vashi and the Koparkhairane node. Enthusiastic participation was witnessed from
students, teaching staff, and parents, creating an atmosphere of pure excitement. Traditional turbans (safas) were tied with pride, and cars adorned with the tricolor were lined up,
commemorating the auspicious occasion. "The way the day was celebrated will remain etched in each of our minds. A sense of pride was felt as the city roads were traveled while
displaying the tricolor flag," recalled a parent. The day's proceedings commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag by the school’s Founding Director, Dr. Simi
Sharma, and Trustee, Mr. Sanjay Sharma. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem, uniting every voice in patriotic harmony. The much-awaited parade was flagged off by the
trustee and Senior Police Inspector of APMC, Mr. Ajay Shinde. "As the parade was held after 13 years, the revival of this cherished tradition was marked," said an official. A
pre-planned route map had been released by the school, detailing nine halt points and designated water stations. As the parade moved through the streets of Vashi and Koparkhairane,
participants danced to the electrifying beats of the Nashik Dhol, and chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Hind echoed with unbridled enthusiasm. "The fervor of the parents was
demonstrated through the decoration of cars, which showcased India’s rich heritage with intricate displays of monuments, landscapes, traditional weaves, and achievements. Other vehicles were
adorned with tricolor artwork," shared a parent. Spectators were left in awe, their smiles reflecting the vibrant spirit of the parade. Upon returning to the school campus, the
celebrations continued with a warm welcome extended to the Chief Guest, Commander Samir Mittal, and his wife Ritu Mittal . Cultural performances by students, along with in-house
competitions, further enriched the occasion. "This Republic Day, Avalon Heights demonstrated that traditions, when revived, have the power to breathe new life into a community. The day
was one of pride, celebration, and the unwavering spirit of togetherness—embodying the very essence of what Avalon stands for," stated an official from the school.
