Thane: 2 killed, 10 injured as godown collapses in Bhiwandi; many feared trapped ; visuals surface | Prashant Narvekar THANE: In a shocking incident on Saturday, April 29, a two-storey
building collapsed in Bhiwandi at 1:45 pm, killing 2 and trapping several people living and working on the premises. TWO CHILDREN RESCUED Two children including a 2.5-year-old boy were
rescued from the debris. Avinash Sawant, regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chief, Thane said, " Our team received the information at the disaster management cell room at around
1:45 pm about the collapse of a two-storey building in Wardhaman Compound. Four families resided on the upper floors while labourers worked on the ground floor." Sawant further added,
"Soon after receiving the information, our team went to the spot to initiate the rescue and relief operations at the site in the Valpada area of Mankoli as several people are feared
trapped in the debris. Fire engines from Bhiwandi, Thane and other surrounding areas have been deployed for search and rescue operations. Also, two teams of NDRF from Mumbai and police
officials reached the spot for the rescue operation. One child and a woman had been safely removed from the debris by the rescue team. There is a possibility of around 15 to 20 people stuck
