Demand Management has announced a new Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) module that will integrate these functions with its existing demand forecasting and requirements planning
services. Demand Management, a global provider of supply chain management tools, said the new module will be part of its existing DSX supply chain software and will meet Gartner’s Stage 3
S&OP Architecture requirements. These requirements mean the services will be presented as a single technology platform that includes supply chain modeling, scenario planning,
financial reconciliation, performance management, workflow, hierarchy management, and collaboration modules. Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management, said the goal of the S&OP
module is part of the emerging trend in unified systems that removes the need to manually re-enter information even if its captured by a different system. “(It) gives companies the ability
to manage with a single view of the truth. Planners will no longer have to hand off their information to others during the S&OP process,” he said. Demand Solutions’ DSX S&OP, the
full name of the suite with the new module, will feature the company’s most up-to-date forecast available as well as forecasts for the monthly S&OP process, allowing decision makers to
look at and adjust decisions with the most current information. “This visibility to the entire supply chain plan is critical for an effective and sustainable S&OP process,” Harrison
said.
