MENLO EXPANDS CORE SERVICES THROUGH NIKE GOLF AGREEMENTS Contract logistics provider Menlo Worldwide Logistics has signed two multi-year service agreements with Nike Golf to assist the
golf company with distribution and assembly of a variety of products. Under one agreement, Menlo expands its core services into assembly management. The Redwood City, Calif.-based company
will partner with Nike Golf at its custom fitting and assembly center in Tigard, Ore., to manage the actual assembly of build-to-order golf clubs. Menlo will also provide distribution
services such as component inventory management and finished goods export of clubs. A second agreement calls for Menlo to customize and staff a 234,000-square-foot Memphis distribution
center. Menlo will located about 65 people at the center where they will manage the North American distribution of Nike Golf products, primarily apparel and accessories. Nike Golf, which
started up about 10 months ago, is one of Nike Inc.'s fastest-growing business units. The company began offering forged titanium drivers, blade-style irons and wedges last spring. The
company is introducing a new line of forged irons in January and fairway woods in February.
