
Baby fighting for life in hospital as man and woman charged

A baby is in a critical condition in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in Darlington. Two people have now been charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical
harm. Durham Constabulary officers were called to an address understood to be in the Branksome area of Darlington shortly before 2pm on Monday, May 26. Paramedics attended and a baby was
taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, with critical injuries. The baby remains in a critical condition and is continuing to receive treatment in hospital, the force has said.
Craig Neill, 25, of Cotherstone Moor Drive, Darlington, and Amy Cave, 20, of Waltham Close, Darlington, have been charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.
They have appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 28. The two defendants will next appear at Teesside Crown Court on June 26. A 24-year-old man, who was also
