A body has been found in the search for a doctor after a nine-day missing person inquiry. Officers searching for missing 44-year-old GP Zakariya Waqar-Uddin sadly found the body of a man
earlier today - Wednesday, May 21. Cleveland Police says that while the man has not yet been formally identified, Zakariya’s family has been informed. A spokesperson said: "Our thoughts
remain with them during this difficult time." Officers have confirmed that the death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner. The
location of where the body was discovered has not yet been released. The news comes after police appealed for the public to help find the medic, who had been missing for over a week. Dr
Waqar-Uddin was last seen in Lancashire on May 12 and officers believed he was heading back to Teesside. A dark purple Volkswagen Touran he was driving was seen in the Low Lane area of
Middlesbrough at around 2.30pm that day. The force said it was "concerned" for his welfare and appeals were made on social media. JOIN TEESSIDE LIVE'S WHATSAPP COMMUNITY FOR
