One person has been taken to hospital following an incident in Darlington town centre. Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on Saturday at 11.10pm. An extensive police


and ambulance service presence was at the scene into the early hours of the morning. The incident took place in Grange Road in the town centre, near to Northumberland Street and Coniscliffe


Road. The roads appear to have been closed for several hours as emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the collision, reports Chronicle Live. A North East Ambulance Service


spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.10pm on Saturday 31 May to reports of a road traffic incident on Grange Road in Darlington. "We dispatched an ambulance crew, specialist


paramedic, and clinical team leader to the scene, and transported one patient to hospital for further treatment.” Durham Constabulary has yet to comment on the incident. The force has been
