Four people, including a 15-year-old boy, have been arrested in connection with the deliberate fires and a report of gun shots in Stockton.
Emergency services, including police officers and firefighters, were kept busy from Sunday evening into the early hours of Monday morning.
Here is a timeline of how the chaos unfolded:
9pm Swale Road Police remained on Swale Road on MondayIt started with the torching of a car on a driveway.
The vehicle, a Jeep, was destroyed in the blaze on Swale Road, in Norton, on Sunday evening. Police were on the scene throughout the night and cordoned off the area.

10pm Howard Place Crime scene investigators at Howard Place on MondayA second police investigation was launched after gun shots were reportedly fired at a house later on Sunday night.
Officers also cordoned off Howard Place in the Tilery area of Stockton and remained there overnight.
It is understood the alarm was raised shortly after 10pm.

A huge blaze swept through a Teesside compound in the early hours of the morning with a number of vehicles well alight.
Emergency fire crews from three stations were called to Hope Street on Haverton Hill, at 12.33am where the vehicles, including six vans and a forklift truck, were well ablaze.
The fire crews, joined by officers from Cleveland Police, took an hour and a half to bring the fire under control.

12:35am Raleigh Road The caravan on Raleigh Road was destroyed by the fire (Image:Terry Blackburn)
A caravan parked near a home was destroyed by fire in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called shortly after midnight to Raleigh Road, Norton Grange, Stockton.
Firefighters tackled the blaze and police were called to the scene.
Pictures show severe damage to the front of the caravan, which was parked off the road in front of a house.

1:50am Appleton Road Fire damaged the Corsa and the garage doorA car and garage door were also severely damaged by fire.
Emergency services were called just before 2am to Appleton Road in the Primrose Hill area of Stockton.
A grey Vauxhall Corsa was severely damaged by the blaze.

Police responseA vehicle suspected of being linked to the incidents was discovered damaged on Hive Close.
It has since been recovered by police.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Fortunately, no one was injured in these incidents.
"Three males aged 28 and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent and all remain in police custody at this time. Enquiries are continuing.
"Officers are carrying out high visibility patrols in regard to the areas affected and would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to those officers in person or call Cleveland Police on
101 with any concerns."
