The blue team on Bargain Hunt were left astounded when their cast iron toilet roll holder caused quite the stir at auction. Joe and Mhari, a married couple, took part in Sunday's (June

1) episode of the BBC show, competing against the red team, friends Brad and Max. With expert John Cameron's guidance, they scoured car boot sales and antique markets to select three

items that caught their eye. Their mission included finding an equestrian-related item, which they linked with their most significant expenditure. Their mood dampened when a novelty clock

they chose sold for half its asking price. Yet, it was their metal toilet paper holder that unexpectedly stole the show. Starting at a modest £8 as suggested by expert Raj Bisram, Joe and

Mhari were gobsmacked as their £15 find ignited a bidding frenzy, escalating much faster than anyone had foreseen. The hammer finally fell at £32, earning the couple a neat profit of £17,

prompting Joe to laugh and say to Mhari: "You're joking! They've gone mad." The pair also made a handsome profit from selling a set of six buttons they'd bought for

£49, fetching £110 at auction, reports the Express. On the other side, the red team focused on an item with a culinary or beverage theme, setting their sights on a small barrel, which they

snapped up for £27. Brad and Max then stumbled upon an 18th century wine bottle, which set them back a substantial £140, fulfilling their big spend requirement. They splashed out on their

final item, securing a vibrant orange designer chair for £118. The red team kicked off brilliantly, with their barrel raking in a £28 profit after selling for £50. Their subsequent item

resulted in a £10 loss, leaving everything hanging on the outcome of the orange chair. However, the pair were left disheartened when it only fetched £70, leading to a loss of £48. In a

last-ditch effort to turn a profit, Brad and Max took up Stephanie Connell's £15 bonus buy offer of three gold heaters for different types of alcohol. The item sold for £35, bringing

the team's overall total to a loss of £10. This meant that Joe and Mhari clinched victory over the red team with a modest profit of £19.
