The stars of the highly praised series Rivals have returned to Rutshire as filming kicks off for the second season. The incredibly popular Disney+ series is set to return with an extended

twelve-episode season, featuring David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner and Danny Dyer reprising their unforgettable roles. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Cotswolds countryside

and the glamorous world of 1980s British television, the second series promises more laughs, passion, and dramatic twists. Based on the best-selling novel by Dame Jilly Cooper, Rivals will

welcome back the all-star cast that captured the nation's heart and even secured a BAFTA nomination this year. Pictures of the cast returning to the fictional county of Rutshire have

been released to confirm that filming has officially started, reports Express. In one picture, Danny Dyer is seen in polo gear as he embraces Irish actress Victoria Smurfit, who is showing

off her vibrant, floral two-piece outfit with white heels. In another photo, Nafessa Williams, Alex Hassel, and Aidan Turner are seen posing together under the afternoon sun. Alex is also

dressed in similar polo attire as he embodies his character, Rupert Campbell. Meanwhile, Aidan is sporting his 1980s moustache with a bright blue polo top and grey suit trousers. Nafessa was

spotted looking radiant in a sleek satin red shirt matched with billowing white wide-leg trousers, standing next to a movie clapper board, signalling that the filming for the second series

of the show is well and truly in motion. Meanwhile, Bella Maclean was seen grinning beside one of the fan-favourite canine actors from the first season, clapper board in hand. The first

season of the hit show made waves on Disney+, becoming the streaming services' most successful general entertainment debut in the UK thus far. With fans eagerly awaiting what comes

next, Rivals' creator and executive producer, Dame Jilly Cooper revealed: "I'm utterly sex-static filming for the second season is upon us." She fondly reminisced about

the production of the inaugural season saying, "It was magical working with Happy Prince and Disney+ on the first season and seeing everyone fall head over heels for my beloved

characters. I'm delighted to be able to work with them again and for everyone to see what further mischief they all get up to!" Expressing their excitement on the forthcoming

season, Happy Prince's Executive Producers Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Alexander Lamb have announced: "We are so excited to be returning to Rutshire for an extended stay of

twelve episodes for season two of Rivals." They also acknowledged the team's eagerness to carry on with the beloved series, noting, "It's very special to have the same

team return in front of and behind the cameras, and we cannot wait to share more of Jilly's world with our audience" _RIVALS IS AVAILABLE TO WATCH ON DISNEY+_
