Apple TV+ has snapped up Wild Things, a new star-studded limited series featuring Jude Law and Andrew Garfield as the legendary entertainers Siegfried and Roy. The series, penned and

executive produced by John Hoffman, comprises eight hour-long episodes. The narrative chronicles the journey of two of history's most celebrated magicians who endeavour to transform Sin

City into a haven for family entertainment. The official synopsis states: "The duo push the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until

tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show." Jude Law will embody Siegfried, while Andrew Garfield takes on the role of Roy, with production set

to commence this autumn. Both actors are also on board as executive producers for the series. Originating from the Apple Original Podcast "Wild Things: Siegfried and Roy" in 2022,

it was the inaugural podcast to explore the often misunderstood lives of these pop culture icons. Siegfried and Roy, the actual German-American duo, were famed for their magic acts featuring

white lions and tigers, reports the Mirror US. Their partnership began in 1959 on a cruise ship, leading to a Las Vegas invitation in 1967. By 1999, they had raked in $500 million, becoming

the highest-paid performers in Vegas. However, their illustrious career came to an abrupt halt in 2003 when Roy sustained severe injuries from a tiger during a live show. While the pair

were advocates for the rehabilitation of endangered species, they faced criticism for utilising animals as "props". The incident involved seven year old white tiger Montecore, who

bit Roy through the neck, severing an artery and compromising blood flow to the right side of his brain. Spectators feared the worst, yet Roy defied the odds and survived, albeit with

partial paralysis on the left side of his body. Roy later insisted that Montecore did not attack him but was actually attempting to save him from what he claimed was a stroke. There remains

no widely agreed upon account of the event, which eventually resulted in the cessation of their renowned show. WILD THINGS WILL AIR ON APPLE TV+
