Fans of Stranger Things have been left with mixed feelings after Netflix finally unveiled a sneak peek at the highly anticipated fifth and final series. The streaming giant shared a trailer

on X on Sunday (June 1), announcing: "The fight isn't over yet. Get ready for the epic series finale of Stranger Things." After an agonising three-year wait exacerbated by

production delays due to strikes from both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) in May 2023 and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) in July

2023, the saga's conclusion is now in sight. Netflix's update, meanwhile, revealed how the show's ending will unfold in three instalments, airing in synchronicity around the

globe. Volume 1 is scheduled to premiere at 1am GMT on November 27, followed by Volume 2 on Boxing Day at the same hour, culminating with The Finale dropping New Year's Day (all 5pm

Pacific Time). Amid the widespread excitement, however, not everyone appeared to be pleased with the timeline, as fans had envisioned binge-watching the story of Hawkins, Indiana play out

sooner. "What an extreme let down," one X user vented. "Everybody thought this show was dropping in the summer time. Now we have to wait basically until the end of the year.

Not to mention it's coming out during three of the biggest holidays when the most people are traveling." A second person echoed the sentiment, adding: "As much as I love the

show, I'm offended by their blatant attempt to hijack holidays that are supposed to be about spending quality time with your loved ones. Here, binge 8 hours of our TV show

instead!" An exasperated third individual shared: "The fact you're playing one of the biggest finales ever on NYE and your somewhat thought process is 5pm before people go out

is The Strangest Thing ever. Do better! I hope people on X voice enough to get you to change that current date." Whilst a fourth offered an alternative perspective on the scheduling,

suggesting: "I'm going out on a limb and they designed the show to go around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's with the Finale as a countdown to the New Year."

Elsewhere, others expressed their disappointment at the trailer's lack of fresh content, which largely featured a montage of intense moments from past seasons involving key characters

such as Eleven (portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown), Jim Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). However, one new snippet managed to pique interest,

showing a chilling moment where the latter is simply heard screaming: "Run! Run!" "This scares me!" admitted one X user at the prospect. A second lamented: "This

poor kid has gone through literally hell and back so much already. Heartbreaking to see and hear his screams." And a third shared their reaction: "I got chills." While fourth

fan shared their Will-centric theory on the Duffer brothers' finale, contributing: "I've had the theory from the jump that the kids are playing Dungeons and Dragons the entire

time. Everything that has happened is all in Will's head because he still wants to be a kid." Another concurred similarly: "There will be a final fight, etc. Then, I believe

it will cut back to them as kids in Mike's basement finishing the D&D campaign they started in Season One. We are watching their campaign play out. They put D&D away and the

show ends." GET MORE NEWS FROM SURREYLIVE STRAIGHT TO YOUR INBOX FOR FREE HERE. _ Join our new WhatsApp community! Click this link to receive your daily dose of SurreyLive content. We
