The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has returned for an explosive second season, following the Mormon content creators known as Mom Tok. After a swinging scandal came to light by Taylor Frankie
Paul in 2022, the influencers were thrust into the limelight in a new reality show, which explores the problems they face within their marriages and friendships, from gambling addictions,
cheating allegations, and their loyalties put to the test. In the new series, much of the drama revolves around Demi Engemann’s fight for power within Mom Tok. One storyline also follows her
infertility struggles and desire to have a biological baby with her husband, Bret. And though she’s left viewers divided with her harsh criticism of other members of Mom Tok, one moment in
this series had hearts breaking for Demi, when the group all engaged in a game of "pregnancy roulette". With two members, Mayci Neeley and Mikayla Matthews, secretly hiding their
pregnancies from the others, Demi was left "triggered" when some of the pregnancy tests in the roulette turned out to be positive. After being supported by the other stars as she
wept, Demi told the cameras in a confessional: “I can’t even explain how deeply sad I’m feeling in this moment. "Initial reaction is like, holy s**t I’m pregnant, and then I’m like,
wait no, there’s no way that you’re pregnant, all you get is negative tests.” She later sobbed: “I try so hard to consider everyone’s feelings, and I feel like people are so flippant about
things that bother me.” Trying to comfort her, Jessi Ngatikaura replied: “That wasn’t a trick anyone was playing on you, but I think it was just really terrible timing.” “That was so wrong,”
she added. Viewers shared their fury over how the "game" unfolded online, with one writing: "Pregnancy roulette when one of your friends is struggling with fertility…"
"It was in SUCH poor taste and also what if someone wanted to keep their pregnancy to themselves (which actually was the case) and you’re coerced into doing that like girl noooo. I
would’ve dipped the test into the toilet water lmao," another replied. Someone else said, "Her crying was so heartbreaking! You could feel her pain." "IK everyone doesn’t
like Demi right now but the pregnancy test roulette was BEYOND mean to do knowing she is having trouble. Like come on did the person who came up with that have a brain?" a fourth
wrote. "This whole pregnancy test roulette thing might be the most bizarre setup and aftermath to ever hit reality television," another X user commented. Someone else echoed:
"Pregnancy test roulette is such a tone deaf game to play knowing that one of your friends is struggling with infertility." Another fumed: "Say what you want about Demi, but
that pregnancy roulette prank was CRUEL. “Oh I’m sorry is this triggering”????? Deeply sad and traumatic," while someone else slammed: "This pregnancy test roulette game is so
darksided when demi has had years of infertility issues." Following backlash online, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Layla Taylor, who had appeared to introduce the game to the
group, clarified what happened in a comment on TikTok. One fan responded to a video of hers, writing: “The pregnancy test roulette tho,” to which Layla said: “Wasn’t my idea.” THE SECRET
