A Surrey garden centre will be marking 50 years since it first opened its doors with a special celebration this summer. Squire’s Garden Centre in Shepperton is inviting customers to join

them for an afternoon tea of fizz and scones on July 31 from 3.30pm until 5.30pm. Hosted by Colin Squire OBE, retired chairman and his daughter Sarah Squire, current chairman of Squire’s

Garden Centres, the event promises a memorable occasion full of warmth, music and community spirit. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of bubbles followed by a delightful afternoon tea

featuring a duo of finger sandwiches (including heritage tomato, avocado and basil, as well as ham with cucumber and lettuce), freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, and an

assortment of mini cakes. The delectable spread will be served with a pot of traditional tea or coffee, and the menu includes vegetarian and gluten-free options. Live music will provide a

charming backdrop to the afternoon, making for a truly relaxing and enjoyable celebration. Tickets cost £25 per person, which includes a glass of fizz, full afternoon tea and a special gift

to take home. Tickets are available to purchase online or in-store – early booking is recommended as places are limited. As part of Squire’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local

community, the event will also include a charity raffle in aid of the Centre’s Charity of the Year, Spelthorne Dementia Support (Purple Angels), with plenty of prizes to be won on the day.
