on 17 December 2014, following a consultation on Closing partially and fully compliant CSA cases simultaneously. We updated the document on 30 November 2017 to reflect a change in the date

by which all liabilities in existing Child Support Agency cases must end. A consultation on changes to the Child Support Agency case closure programme decided that the date would change from

31 December 2017 to 31 December 2018. ABOUT THE SCHEME We introduced new rules for all new child maintenance applications from November 2013. Cases assessed under the 1993 and 2003 child

maintenance schemes will have their maintenance liabilities ended, leading to the eventual closure of the case. People paying or receiving child maintenance under these schemes will be

invited to make their own arrangements or apply for the new child maintenance scheme. This guidance explains how and when we will end existing liabilities under the 1993 and 2003 schemes and

how to apply under the new scheme. MORE ABOUT CHILD MAINTENANCE Read more information about arranging child maintenance through the Child Support Agency or Child Maintenance Service. SIGN
