CAPI14150 - CONTROL PROCEDURES ON THE IMPORTATION OF FRESH GARLIC: CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN AND ADDITIONAL MEASURES A Certificate of Origin must accompany each import of garlic originating in
Lebanon, Iran, UAE, Vietnam and Malaysia, and be issued by the competent national authorities of that country. In addition to a Certificate of Origin imports must have been transported
directly from the country of export to the Community. Products that have been transported directly would be considered as being one of the following: * transported without passing through
the territory of any other third country * transported through one or more third countries other than the country of origin, with or without transhipment or temporary warehousing in those
countries, provided that such passage is justified for geographical reasons or exclusively on account of transport requirements and provided that the products have: * remained under the
supervision of the customs authorities of the country/countries of transit or warehousing * not entered into commerce or been released for consumption there * not undergone operations there
other than unloading and reloading or any other operation to keep them in good condition * a single transport document issued in the country of origin covering passage through the
country/countries of transit (a through Bill of Lading), and * a certificate issued by the customs authorities of the country/countries of transit containing a precise description of the
goods and the dates of their unloading and reloading or their lading or unlading, identifying the vessels used. Reference should also be made to the Examination and Sampling Good Practice
