Baramulla, Feb 29: The Science Park has been thrown open in Baramulla ahead of the reopening of the schools across Kashmir. The project has been established to actively engage the students
with scientific concepts through games and simulations under open sky. The park, constructed at Ushkura area near Baramulla main highway was thrown open on Tuesday. The park has been
established by a Pune based NGO 1-Aseem foundation in collaboration with the 19 infantry division of Indian Army. Following the inauguration of the Science Park, the students visited the
venue to take firsthand experience getting actively engaged in scientific concepts. Talking to _Greater Kashmir_, President Aseem Foundation Sarang Gosawi said the initiative will provide a
platform for students to explore beyond traditional teaching methods and offer an interactive space for them to actively engage with scientific concepts through games and simulations. “The
objective of this science park is to actively involve students in scientific concepts. The project was developed here after we recognised the need to make science education more engaging and
accessible,” he said. The students who visited the Science Park soon after it was thrown open, engaged with periscopes, seesaws, and demonstrations of concepts like torque through tug of
war. The students of Sanctorum Institute Sopore along with the teachers also visited the Science Park to take firsthand account of the facilities available for the learners. “The
establishment of the Science Park is a wonderful initiative as it will surely enhance interest of students in science and mathematics and provide them an opportunity for innovative and
creative learning,” Managing Director Sanctorum Institute, Shakir Ashraf told _Greater Kashmir_. “Our students are excited about it and once the school will reopen after winter vacation, we
will take the students in groups to the newly established Science Park,” he said. Shabnam, a teacher from Sopore said the park serves as a valuable resource for educators noting that the
teachers can get insights into innovative teaching techniques, discover new experiments, and explore emerging scientific disciplines.
