The Traffic movement on Sonamarg-Drass stretch of Srinagar-Leh highway was restored on Thursday after its suspension last evening. Officials said that the traffic movement was suspended as
a precautionary measure after the incessant rains and fresh snowfall in Zojila area since last night. ‘”After the weather turned favorable for traffic movement, all kinds of traffic
including LMVs and HMVs were allowed to move from both sides of Zojila Pass,” a traffic official at Sonamarag told Greater kashmir. “The traffic was first allowed to move from Drass to
Sonamrag till afternoon and from Sonamarag to Drass later,” officials said. Around four to seven inches of fresh snow has accumulated at different points in Zojila area including zero
point.
