Residents of Duarte are being invited to apply for vacants seats on five advisory boards to the City Council. Boards with vacancies are: The Traffic and Safety Commission. Members advise the


council on matters pertaining to traffic laws. Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Three seats with four-year terms are open. The Planning Commission. Members make


recommendations to the council on land-use issues, zoning matters and subdivision ordinances. Meetings are the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Three seats with four-year terms are open.


The Parks and Recreation Commission. Members advise the council on policies for the maintenance and operation of the city’s recreational programs. Meetings are the second Monday of each


month at 7 p.m. Two four-year terms are open. The Community Services Commission. Members advise the council on cable services, refuse and recycling programs, transit modifications and


environmental issues. Meetings are the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Three seats with four-year terms are open. The Economic Development Commission. Members advise the council on


commercial and residential development, redevelopment projects and policies relating to business and industry in Duarte. Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Two seats


with four-year terms are open. Applications and a list of requirements are available at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall. The deadline for applying is Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. MORE TO READ
