The city has chosen the R.J. Noble Co. to rebuild Orangethorpe Avenue from Rose Drive to Van Buren Street. The company bid $129,481 for the contract, the lowest of the eight bids received.
The redevelopment staff had previously estimated construction costs at $150,400. Money for the project will be provided by both city redevelopment and Orange County Arterial Highway Federal
Planning sources. The county has promised $73,338, with the city contributing $77,062. The project includes repavement and reconstruction work as well as removal of abandoned railroad
tracks. In compliance with county policies, the city will pay for the project and receive monthly federal reimbursement payments. MORE TO READ
