Dana Hills 14, Santa Barbara 4--Dana Hills (12-2), the top-ranked team in Division II, won seven of nine doubles sets and received a sweep at singles from Summer Tantee to defeat host Santa
Barbara, ranked fourth in Division I.
Huntington Beach 12, Pacifica 6--John Elser had three goals to lead the Oilers. Huntington Beach goalkeeper Rick Wojnarowski had 10 saves for Pacifica in the second-round game. In an earlier
game, Huntington Beach defeated Santa Margarita’s B team, 11-7. Dustin Worley scored four goals for the Oilers in the victory.
Long Beach Wilson 11, Villa Park 8--Peter Joseph scored four goals to lead Long Beach Wilson. Kyle Baumgarner and Joey Pacelli had three goals each for Villa Park. Mike Nguyen recorded eight
saves and added five assists for the Spartans in the loss.
Foothill 13, Newport Harbor 1--It was just another day in the pool for top-ranked Foothill, which shut out Newport Harbor the first two quarters. Jeff Pflueger had goals and Nick Ellis had
five saves for the Knights (19-1).
Katella 18, Orange 5--Jeremy Janton and Dave Rook scored four goals apiece, and Phil Wirthgen scored three as No. 9 Katella defeated Orange. Katella is 13-6.
Los Alamitos 9, Capistrano Valley 3--Third-ranked Los Alamitos outscored Capistrano Valley, 4-0, in the fourth quarter at Long Beach State. Tyler Wawrzynski scored four goals and John Pearce
and David Kong had two each for the Griffins (16-5).
