Re “O.C. acts to halt Planned Parenthood pact,” March 11 I am ashamed of the Orange County Board of Supervisors’ decision to suspend a contract with Planned Parenthood of Orange and San
Bernardino counties for health education programs. The supervisors cited personal religious and moral objections to abortion. Abortions make up a very small percentage of Planned
Parenthood’s services. Its mission is to provide accurate reproductive-related education and contraception. It gives patients information about every medically appropriate option for a given
situation. It’s conceivable that Planned Parenthood’s expert care and education have prevented more abortions than any other medical provider in Orange County. The Board of Supervisor’s
