The latest episode of the BBC's Escape to the Country saw a house viewing abruptly halted when a buyer declared, "No point carrying on". Phil and Jo, a London couple ready to

leave behind city life after 25 years for the serene woodlands of Hampshire, joined forces with presenter Denise Nurse for the house hunt. With £625,000 at their disposal, they sought a

three-bedroom property full of charm, nestled in a village that offered country walks and easy train links for trips back to London, reports the Express. Phil shared his hopes for their new

life: "Hopefully, there'll be a local pub or somewhere where we can meet some of the locals and start to fit in with the community. We're hoping it'll be just the perfect

way to spend our retirement years." Denise had prepared a range of properties for them to view, but it was a quaint Wiltshire cottage that stole their hearts. The thatched, detached

home featured three spacious bedrooms, a cosy reception area, and the added delight of a sun room. READ MORE: Channel 4's Kirstie and Phil hunting for Leicestershire entrants for Love

It or List It To their amazement, Denise revealed that this idyllic home was within budget at £600,000. The news rendered the couple momentarily speechless, with Jo quickly concluding:

"Wow. Right, that's it, then. There's no point in carrying on." Phil's excitement was palpable as he said: "I'm feeling very excited, to be honest.

It's got everything we hoped for. It's got character in spades, and the garden is lovely." Jo expressed her joy, saying: "We hoped for a thatched house but I don't

think I expected one to be as nice as this within our budgets, so I'm absolutely delighted." In expressing gratitude for Denise's help during their search, Jo added:

"Love Denise. We loved her before. We said before that we loved her before and she's our favourite." Phil said: "She's always been our favourite presenter, but she

is even higher up now." Despite being smitten with the property, the couple chose not to place an offer as they disclosed that they hadn't yet sold their existing home. Phil

confessed: "Despite falling in love with the property, the couple decided not to make an offer as they revealed they hadn't yet sold their current home. "We haven't got

an offer on our place that we're selling. As soon as we do, then that will be a very real possibility to move, yes." We are now bringing you the latest updates on WhatsApp first
