Coronation Street's Paul Foreman star Peter Ash looked almost unrecognisable eight months after his tragic soap exit. Soap watchers will recall that Peter, 40, played Paul on the ITV
soap but his character tragically died in September after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As Paul's condition deteriorated, he married partner Billy Mayhew, played by
Daniel Brocklebank, and was sadly confined to his flat. Paul died in 2024, seventeen months after his diagnosis, and actor Peter won a National Television Award for Serial Drama Performance
over his portrayal. Now, eight months later, actor Peter appeared at The British Soap Awards 2025, where he is nominated for Best Dramatic Performance, going up against the likes of Steve
McFadden, who plays Phil Mitchell on EastEnders, Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle Dingle on Emmerdale, and Isabelle Smith, who plays Frankie Osborne on Hollyoaks. The actor reunited with
co-stars Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer Spellman, and Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew. Peter looked almost unrecognisable from his Corrie days as he sported a full beard and
longer slicked back hair. It comes as Billy star Daniel made the unexpected announcement earlier this month that he's leaving his role after an 11-year stint. The actor took to his
Instagram account, touching the hearts of fans with a succinct farewell post featuring an image of his character and captioning it simply: "Bye bye Billy" alongside a heart emoji.
In a heartfelt personal statement, Daniel reflected on his time at Coronation Street: "I have been working on Corrie for a quarter of my life. I have adored every minute I have been in
that building and have never not looked forward to going into work." He continued to express his bittersweet feelings around his departure: "I love everyone who works on this show
and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds." It is believed that Daniel will be involved in a major storyline which will see Billy exit the
cobbles in 2026. Adding to the discussion, Coronation Street's executive producer Kate Brooks hinted at challenging times ahead for Billy: "Billy will be involved in a major
storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit. "We're incredibly sad to bid farewell
to Dan, who has been fantastic in some of Corrie's biggest storylines over the past few years, most notably Paul's MND. "An actor of immeasurable talent and skill, and an
absolute treasure behind the scenes - he will be missed by all of us on the cobbles." CORONATION STREET CONTINUES ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS AT 8PM ON ITV AND ITV X.
