hours of this morning. The incident is said to have happened following what police described as a reported fight on De Montfort Street. Leicestershire Police were called at 12.34am today


(Saturday, May 31). Officers said four people - two men and two women - were injured in the collision, with three people suffering serious injuries and one man sustaining minor injuries. A


31-year-old man from Leicester has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the alleged collision. He

STREET? The incident reportedly began with a fight nearby before a car allegedly collided with multiple pedestrians. Police said from their enquiries, it is understood that the arrested man


and the four injured persons involved in the alleged incident had all been in attendance at a private event nearby prior to what happened. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE CAR INVOLVED IN THE


COLLISION? The car believed to have been involved has been found in nearby Margaret Street and has been recovered as part of the investigation. Officers said that all those involved had been


at the same private event before the alleged incident took place. WHO HAS BEEN INJURED AND ARRESTED? Four people were allegedly struck by the vehicle - two men and two women. Three of the


victims remain in hospital with serious injuries, while one man suffered minor injuries but also remains in hospital for treatment. A 31-year-old man from Leicester has been arrested in


connection with the alleged incident. He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, according to Leicestershire


Police. WHAT POLICE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION? Detective Inspector Jenny Tattersall said: "We understand the serious concern there will be about this incident. Four people


currently remain in hospital and an investigation is ongoing as we continue to establish the full circumstances and the events leading up to this incident." She added: "A man


remains in police custody and will be questioned by officers." The detective inspector also urged people not to speculate about the incident on social media to allow a thorough
