A woman was punched before having her cash stolen in a Leicester city centre car park. Police have turned to the public for help in a bid to trace two witnesses to the robbery


According to police, the incident happened around 12.35am on Sunday, May 25. The woman was approached by a man known to her near the lifts on the lower ground floor of the NCP car park in


Lee Circle.


The man then punched the woman before stealing "a quantity of cash". A police spokesperson said: "The woman screamed during the incident and two witnesses then came over to assist her."

Detective Constable Zaeema Osman has called on the two witnesses - both men - to come forward. She said: “We know that these two men came over to assist the woman, allowing her to run off.


"We would be particularly keen to speak to them as they could have information which could be important to our investigation. If you are either of these two men, or someone else who may have


information about what happened, please get in touch with us."
