I watched this back in June, so it was neat giving it another go now that I'm more familiar with how Art Davis' LT shorts looked and Billy Bletcher popping up in various Golden Age
cartoons (as the voice of the unfortunate Steve Brody in this case). I really like the pictures telling Brody's story, illustrated with cross hatching to give it a flair distinct from
the rest of the short. I'm also becoming quite enamoured with the way Davis' animators draw critters like Bugs; the movement itself reminds me of McKimson's shorts (makes
sense since animators Bill Melendez and Emery Hawkins later worked in his unit) but the designs are wholly distinct and very charming. It's a nice, brisk toon albeit one I don't
have much else to say about.
