FIRE SERVICES BELIEVE THE BLAZE STARTED ACCIDENTALLY 16:42, 30 Mar 2025Updated 17:39, 30 Mar 2025 A fire broke out at an Ellesmere Port shopping centre. Firefighters were called to the
Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet off Kinsey Road at around 3pm today, March 30. Two fire engines from Chester and one from Runcorn attended the village-style shopping centre after the smell of
smoke was reported in one of the shops. The area was evacuated while firefighters extinguished the blaze, which is believed to have been started accidentally, fire services said. A spokesman
for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services said: "Firefighters attended a call to a smell of smoke in a commercial premises at Cheshire Oaks. On arrival they found a small fire involving
cardboard on a racking system and extinguished it with a hose reel. "They used a high pressure fan to remove smoke from the premises which was evacuated, along with the premises next
door, while the fire was dealt with. It is believed the fire started accidentally." Article continues below A spokesperson from Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet said: "Shortly after
15:00pm, Cheshire Fire and Rescue attended Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet to deal with a small fire in one of the back of house storage areas. "The fire was quickly dealt with and
extinguished by the crews. No one was injured in the incident, and the damage was minimal.Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is now fully open and we would like to take this opportunity to thank
