touching tribute at Anfield ahead of the musician’s gigs at the stadium. Bruce and the E-Street Band will play two gigs in Liverpool tonight (Wednesday June 4) and Saturday June 7.
Hundreds of fans have already been queuing outside the stadium in the days preceding the inaugural Anfield show, ready to be given a number, which corresponds to how close they will be to
the stage. This practice, which is taking place in Stanley Park this time around, has been commonplace for fans going to Bruce’s gigs since 2009.
They always liaise with the gig’s organisers for these events, and this time is no different.

the gig takes place, they will be walked in first by Bruce’s security team.
The roll calls, like many others down the years, have been organised by Anthony Towers, 59, from Warrington. He said the system was thought up after the end of general admission areas at his
gigs, known as ‘the pit’.

6,000 people.
"You can’t see much and have to watch it on the monitors.” Yesterday, Anthony and other fans of The Boss laid a wreath at the Hillsborough Memorial.
The memorial contains the names of the 97 Liverpool fans who were unlawfully killed after going to watch their team play in an FA Cup semi-final match against Nottingham Forest at the
stadium in Sheffield. The wreath is made up of red, yellow, green and white flowers.
Underneath, a fan has left a touching message which says: “Nobody should ever go to a football game and not return home. In memory of all those affected.
"From all Bruce Springsteen fans, and the GA Pit line, attending Anfield, June 2025. YNWA.”
Anthony told the ECHO about the laying of the wreath on Monday as he explained the strong connection he and other fans had made with Scousers. He said: “They’ve been great.
"They call us nutters, but we know that we’re nutters. Everybody’s been great.
"You cannot fault Liverpool for welcoming us all. I’ve had an excellent time.
"Everybody’s been friendly. We’ve been going to the famous pub down there (The Arkles).
"As soon as we walk in, they put Bruce on.”

in your queue order.
"We’ll go through the register. If you can stay behind and listen to music from Laura, that would be great.
“At 2.30pm tomorrow, we will be going to the memorial to lay a wreath. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible.”
On Friday, there will be an event in memory of longtime Bruce fan Bel Merriman, who died of cancer a few years ago, at Hotel Anfield. Entitled Wheels of Love, there will be live music and an
auction of Springsteen memorabilia from 12pm.
These Liverpool shows have been a long time coming for The Boss, who admitted Liverpool has had a huge impact on his life and career. The New Jersey-born singer-songwriter, 75, credits our
city's most famous sons with inspiring him to become a musician.
Anthony said: “He’s been trying to get Liverpool now for a good few years. After he played at Aston Villa in 2023, there were rumours he would come here.
"After he played in Sunderland last year, he had to cancel a few shows due to vocal issues but we’ve got Liverpool out of it now, so we’re all happy.”
