THE FORMER LIVERPOOL VICE-CAPTAIN AND HIS FAMILY WERE PRAISED FOR THEIR 'GENEROSITY AND KINDNESS' 12:39, 04 Jun 2025Updated 15:49, 04 Jun 2025 Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave a
lasting legacy in Merseyside despite departing Liverpool last week. The 26 year-old from West Derby now plays for Spanish side Real Madrid. Alexander-Arnold left after winning two Premier
League titles, two League Cups, an FA Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup and the 2019 Champions League. However, his exit divided Liverpool fans, with many feeling it was wrong for a local player
like him to leave with the club in such a strong position to win more trophies. Liverpool also stood to lose their vice-captain for free once his contract expired on June 30, but with the
FIFA Club World Cup taking place next month and Real Madrid competing, there was the chance to agree a fee to expedite the process. The clubs made such an agreement last week, with Real
paying the Reds around £10m to release him early from his contract. Alexander-Arnold was warmly regarded for his philanthropic work in his home city. This included supporting The Whitechapel
Centre, a homeless charity, and funding the TAA League. These are youth football leagues giving young children a chance to play football for free and have been funded by the right back. The
leagues take place at the Tiber Football Centre in Toxteth and the Eddie McArdle Playing Fields on Simonswood Lane in Kirkby. There was some uncertainty about whether these leagues would
continue to receive funding after he left for Spain. After the right-back announced his departure last month, the ECHO contacted the TAA League’s organisers as well as the PLG Agency, which
represents Alexander-Arnold, for an answer but neither responded. Article continues below However, in an Instagram post a few days ago, the TAA League confirmed it would be continuing. One
of the organisers, Sean Barrigan, praised Alexander-Arnold and his family for their “generosity and kindness”. In a statement after a recent youth tournament, Sean said: “Just want to say a
massive thank you to all 40 teams who participated in our tournaments this week, most importantly the 50+ teams who participated in both our leagues this season. It's been an absolute
pleasure to have everyone! “Big thank you to our sites in Tiber, run by Mark, and Kirkby, run by Ben and Scott, for helping us put our matches on and deliver a safe environment for children
every single week. Without them the leagues can’t run. “Massive thank you to all the staff through the season on both sites. Special mentions to Wylie, Peter, Sahil, Mahamood of Tiber and
Katelyn, Daniel, Josh and other members of staff involved this season in Kirkby for creating brilliant development sessions for the boys and girls through the season. “Most importantly a
special thank you to @trentarnold66 and his family. Without their generosity and kindness, the league would not be able to give all the players free football every single week. “This is my
third year currently coordinating and TAA League’s fifth all together. "This has been my favourite year so far and yes the league is carrying on. We’re looking to go bigger and better
this coming year and we are already excited to be back in the first week of September! Thanks again everyone!” Alexander-Arnold has two brothers, Tyler and Marcell. Tyler is his agent and a
director at the PLG football agency. The firm represents the current Liverpool right-back as well as left-back Andy Robertson and former captain Jordan Henderson. Marcell meanwhile featured
in a promotional campaign for JD last year along with his son and Alexander-Arnold. Article continues below
