of their priority targets. Their main rivals have seemingly been sprung into action as a result.

The Reds have already landed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, as they look to fill the void left by the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

‌ Florian Wirtz could follow the full-back from Leverkusen to Liverpool too, as talks continue over what would be a British-record £125 million transfer. Milos Kerkez is also a target at AFC

Bournemouth, as Liverpool look to strengthen their left-back options.

interest In every transfer window one deal can so often be the trigger for many more to follow. This summer, that could well be the potential arrival of Wirtz.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City were both in contention for the Germany international in recent weeks, although they have both seemingly walked away due to the potential costs and the

player's preference to move to Anfield.

City's own moves in the transfer window would suggest they are ready to move on from a deal, as they look close to securing transfers for a midfielder and a wide forward. Wirtz has played in

both positions for Leverkusen in recent years.

with City so far putting up £50 million.

On Sunday there were further developments regarding City too, as it was reported they have taken a step closer to signing Rayan Cherki.

‌ According to Fabrizio Romano, City are now confident of striking a deal in the region of £30 million for the Lyon forward.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Arsenal are in talks with RB Leipzig over the potential signing of Benjamin Sesko according to Sky in Germany.

The 21-year-old striker is said to have a release clause of £67 million in his current contract. The Gunners are on the hunt for more firepower as they look to close to gap to the Reds this

season and are also close to signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

Anfield about how the transfer window has panned out so far, for themselves or their main rivals.
