Munich president Herbert Hainer admits Florian Wirtz is "leaning towards Liverpool" as the German side prepare to accept defeat in their transfer battle for the Bayer Leverkusen attacking

midfielder. Negotiations are ongoing between the Reds and Leverkusen over a deal for the 22-year-old that is almost certain to smash the club record transfer of the Premier League champions.

Leverkusen value the Germany international at around €150million although there could be a compromise over the final fee depending on how the package is structured regards money up front and

add-ons. There is also a possibility a player exchange could be part of any agreement.

‌ Bayern have courted Wirtz for several years and had for some time been the expected next club of the player, despite strong interest from Liverpool and Manchester City over the last 12

months.

from the race due to the cost of the deal and a belief Wirtz preferred a move to Anfield.

The Reds made it known to Wirtz's entourage last week they would be interested in a deal with Leverkusen if the player decided to pursue a fresh challenge away from the Bundesliga.
