BRUCE'S RECENT MANCHESTER SHOWS WERE WARMED UP BY LIVERPOOL'S OWN ALI HORN 14:11, 29 May 2025 Bruce Springsteen's shows at Anfield next week will not feature any official
support acts before 'The Boss' takes to the stage to perform his The Land of Hope and Dreams tour. The ECHO understands there are no support acts for either show at the stadium on
June 4 or June 7. Despite the lack of supporting artists, fans are still in for hours of entertainment thanks to Bruce's lengthy setlist, which covers hits from across his famous back
catalogue, as well as covers and speeches to his audience. The Born in the USA singer is renowned for his legendary live shows and regularly mixes up the playlist with tracks from his
incredible six-decade career. Bruce's recent Manchester shows were warmed up by Liverpool's own Ali Horn. The singer-songwriter, 38, from Aigburth, played at the Co-op Live in
Manchester on May 14, before Bruce started his set. Ali also played at the M&S Bank Arena before Bryan Adams. Ali was not an official support act for either musician but played in both
of the arenas beforehand as music lovers trickled in for the gigs. Speaking to the ECHO previously, Ali said: “I quit my job when I was 30. I thought, it's going to be now or never. I
did have a record deal at the time but they weren't paying me any money. I had some things in place but I couldn't pay my rent from it. “I went busking full time before I got many
paid gigs. Busking in the snow in January to try and make rent with hand warmers and about 10 layers on - that was character building, I'd say. “It's a good chapter for the story.
But it was pretty difficult as well. Looking back on some of the gigs that I had to take to make rent, there were some crazy bars with people being drunk and abusive. “I've had people
just grabbing me non-stop during a two hour gig. Sometimes you feel like a piece of meat. I’d get home and think, 'I'm so ready to throw in the towel, I'm done with this game.
It's horrible.' “It was a huge risk. I had a steady job and a good career path as it were. It was probably the scariest thing I've done. But in hindsight, it was the best
thing I've done. I wish I'd done it sooner.” Through sheer determination, Ali found some stability, securing weekly residencies at the The One O'Clock Gun in the Albert Dock
and the Jacaranda on Slater Street. It was at the latter that he was spotted by someone who worked at the M&S Bank Arena, which led to the chance to play there. Ali said: “I was taking
requests and did a load of her favourite songs. Then she came over and said, 'would you want to come and play some shows?' We took it from there and it was as easy as that really.”
Earlier this month, Bruce issued an update on the European shows as he officially named the tour, The Land of Hope and Dreams. An announcement on the legendary musician's website
said: "Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will return to the road on May 14 for their only shows of 2025, bringing “The Land of Hope and Dreams Tour” to more than 700,000 fans in
six countries this summer. "Beginning with a three-show run in Manchester, England next week, these 16 scheduled dates will serve as the finale to a tour that’s been deemed “the
greatest show on earth” (Billboard) and “a masterclass in the uplifting power of rock-and-roll” (Washington Post)." The Born In the USA singer is renowned for his legendary live shows
and regularly mixes up the playlist from the back catalogue of his incredible six decade career. Fans on Reddit were delighted with the tour name and suggested he will be opening the show
with the 1999 song that makes the tour title. A user named Electrical-Ad1917 said: "I could see Bruce opening each show with Land of Hope And Dreams for this tour. I went to the 12/4/12
Anaheim show and he opened that show with LOHAD. It was so awesome." Article continues below Other fans have predicted The Boss will have a special surprise up his sleeve for the
Liverpool shows. KMRobert_Son said: "I hope he does some city or country specific covers - maybe a little Oasis or the Smiths in Manchester, Beatles in Liverpool, Kraftwerk in
Germany." The Hypochondriac commented: "I’d honestly be a little surprised if McCartney doesn’t show up for one of Bruce’s Liverpool shows. But I’d be completely stunned if Bruce
doesn’t play a Beatles track at all, cause it’s Liverpool, you kind of have to!" The Boss has performed alongside the legendary Beatle a number of times over recent years. They have
have collaborated on stage at the 2022 Glastonbury Festival and the 2024 Ivor Novello Awards.
